แนวโน้มละคอนเวทีไทยในช่วงเวลาแห่งความพลิกผัน
Thai Theatre Trends in the Age of Disruption
Abstract
Theatre industry in Thailand is facing tremendous challenges from the Digital Disruption, Covid-19, to a series of socio-economic and political crises internally. Such the transitions cause Thai theatre companies to restructure their organizations and to adjust their forms and contents to suit the new environment. The purpose of this research aimed to examine direct and indirect factors influencing the industry in order to forecast trends and solutions to the problem. The study used a mixed-method to analyze a relationship between social phenomena and the Thai performing arts industry.
The research suggested that the impact on the theatre industry in Thailand could be categorized into two major levels: international and domestic factors. Thai theatre is not only changed correspondingly with the world trends in terms of the technology disruption and the spreading of the Covid-19, but also oppositely to that of the world in terms of the audience’s average age. In addition, Thai theatre was affected by political instability, economic recession, and the change in social activities. Based on the aforementioned factors, Thai theatre has a high tendency of decreasing the number of places and spaces in Thai society, a growing demand among new generation in the big cities, and a changing content and form to fit the new social landscape. Practical applications mediating these issues include utilizing new technology to increase productivity, repositioning Thai perception about the theatre to fit the target audience, cooperating among organizations, and developing arts administration programs in higher education to lead the changes.
บทคัดย่อ
ละคอนเวทีในประเทศไทยกำลังเผชิญกับความพลิกผันอย่างรุนแรงจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงฉับพลันทางดิจิทัล (Digital Disruption) การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 (Covid-19) และปัจจัยทางการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ และสังคมภายในประเทศ การเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าวทำให้คณะละคอนต่างต้องปรับโครงสร้างองค์กรและแนวทางการนำเสนอให้สอดคล้องกับสภาพแวดล้อมใหม่ งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์เหตุปัจจัยที่ส่งผลกระทบทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อมต่อวงการละคอนเวทีไทยโดยองค์รวมเพื่อคาดการณ์แนวโน้มและเสนอแนะแนวทางการจัดการละคอนเวทีไทยท่ามกลางวิกฤตและโอกาส ในการดำเนินการศึกษา ผู้วิจัยใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมโดยการประมวลความสัมพันธ์ของปรากฏการณ์ทางสังคมที่สำคัญต่อวงการละคอนเวที และสังเคราะห์เป็นแนวโน้มและแนวทางการรับมือต่อความเปลี่ยนแปลง
จากการศึกษาพบว่า ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของละคอนเวทีไทยแบ่งเป็น 2 ระดับใหญ่ คือ ปัจจัยระดับโลกและระดับประเทศไทย กล่าวคือ ละคอนไทยไม่เพียงแต่เปลี่ยนแปลงสอดคล้องกับแนวโน้มการพลิกผันของโลกจากการถูกแทรกแซงโดยเทคโนโลยีและการแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อไวรัสเท่านั้น แต่ละคอนไทยยังมีแนวโน้มสวนกระแสโลกในด้านอายุเฉลี่ยผู้ชมด้วย ส่วนในระดับประเทศนั้น ละคอนไทยได้รับผลกระทบจาก การขาดเสถียรภาพทางการเมือง การถดถอยทางเศรษฐกิจ และการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีทางสังคม ทำให้ละคอนไทยขาดสมรรถนะในการแข่งขันกับกิจกรรมสันทนาการอื่น ภายใต้กรอบปัจจัยข้างต้นนำไปสู่แนวโน้มสำหรับละคอนเวทีไทย ดังนี้ การลดลงของพื้นที่และสถานที่การแสดง การเติบโตของกลุ่มผู้ชมรุ่นใหม่แบบกระจุกตัวในเมืองหลัก และการเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบและเนื้อหาให้สอดคล้องกับสภาพแวดล้อมใหม่ เพื่อรับมือกับความเปลี่ยนแปลงดังกล่าว นักการละคอนควรใช้ประโยชน์จากเทคโนโลยีในการเพิ่มผลิตภาพและเพิ่มช่องทางการนำเสนอ จัดวางตำแหน่งทางการตลาดใหม่ให้สอดคล้องกับผู้ชมเป้าหมาย ร่วมมือกันเพื่อวางมาตรฐานวิชาชีพและสร้างพลังในการเข้าถึงแหล่งทุนและการต่อรอง ตลอดจนส่งเสริมการพัฒนาทักษะด้านการจัดการศิลปะเพื่อให้เท่าทันความเปลี่ยนแปลงใหม่อยู่เสมอ
